Higgsfield is an AI platform for video and images. Many models under one interface, plus the Soul ID for a face that looks the same in every scene. We built a comic generator with it. Here is what it does, what it costs and where it hurts.
Higgsfield is an AI platform for video and images. You write a prompt or upload an image, and Higgsfield turns it into a clip. Behind the interface run several models, including its own image model Soul and models from other providers such as Kling, Seedance or Veo.
You pay in credits. Every generation costs credits, depending on model, resolution and length. That is the most important point to understand before you start.
With the Soul ID you train a reusable character from your photos. It makes sure your face looks the same in every scene instead of being rolled anew for each video. That is exactly why we picked Higgsfield for our comic generator.

Higgsfield has an official API with its own documentation. Jobs run asynchronously: you submit the request and check the status until the result is ready.
The result: Videos from scripts and workflows instead of the interface.
Subscription with credits: Higgsfield sells plans with monthly credits. The tiers are currently called Starter, Plus and Ultra, plus team plans. Names, prices and credit amounts change often and differ by source. Check the current pricing page before you decide.
Credit packs: If you need more, you book packs. 1,000 credits currently cost about 55 EUR (as of October 2026). Credits expire after a certain time, so check how long purchased credits stay valid before you buy.
One video: A 10-second clip cost us around 30 credits in our test, which is about 1.65 EUR. Other models cost more or fewer credits.
The tests: In episode 1 we used around 500 credits, including all tests. That is about 27.50 EUR. Budget more for tests than for the finished video.
What is often overlooked: The first video is rarely the expensive part, everything you try before it is. Calculating in advance what a finished clip may cost keeps you in control.
The Soul ID is the main reason. Your face stays stable across many scenes without rolling anew for every video. For avatars and recurring characters that is the decisive advantage.
Many models under one roof. You switch the model without switching the provider, and you pay for everything from the same credit balance.
The API is officially documented. Jobs run asynchronously, which fits well into workflows, for example with FastAPI or n8n. You submit a request and fetch the result once it is ready.
Costs are hard to predict. The price depends on model, resolution and length, and the plans change often. Calculate in advance what a finished clip may cost.
Credits expire. Unused credits are lost. Do not buy packs in advance.
Accounts are easy to mix up. We accidentally had two Higgsfield accounts: the API key belonged to one, the Soul ID lived in the other. So the key had no access to it. Check up front that key and Soul ID are in the same account.
Finding the Soul ID was not easy. For the API you need its ID, and the interface does not show it where we expected it. Higgsfield can make that simpler.
We put Higgsfield into our own workflow: Notion provides the input, FastAPI calls Higgsfield and fetches the video. ElevenLabs delivers the audio, and FastAPI assembles both into the finished video.
We call the Soul ID through the API with our own key. If you want to connect Higgsfield without writing your own code, you can also call the API through n8n.
We wanted to know whether an entry in Notion can become a finished comic video, with me as the comic character. Higgsfield delivers the video using my Soul ID.
FastAPI merges it with the voice from ElevenLabs. Everything ran locally as a test. The episode on it is on MacNorris TV.
