AI turns me into a comic (Higgsfield + ElevenLabs)
I'm building a comic of myself: taking photos, creating a Higgsfield Soul ID, generating a voice in ElevenLabs, and my own platform turns it all into the finished video. Everything from the first photos to the result, mistakes included.
An AI comic generator needs four parts: a data source, a hub that controls everything, one tool for video and one for voice. We connected Notion, FastAPI, Higgsfield and ElevenLabs. An entry in Notion becomes a finished comic video, with me as the comic character and my own voice. A 10-second video costs us about 1.75 EUR. The video on MacNorris TV runs 19 minutes and covers everything from the first photos to the result.
What did we build?
A small platform that turns an entry in Notion into a comic video. I'm the main character. We built it as a test, running locally on my machine.
How does the AI comic generator work?
Four parts, each does exactly one thing:
- Notion provides the input, meaning scene and text
- FastAPI controls the flow and calls the tools in the right order
- Higgsfield generates the video using my Soul ID
- ElevenLabs delivers the voice
Everything comes together in FastAPI: it receives the video from Higgsfield and the audio from ElevenLabs and assembles the finished video.
Do you need FastAPI for this?
No, a simple script works too. We use FastAPI because we like building things that are reusable. The hub stays the same, even if we swap a tool later or connect another one.
What is a Soul ID in Higgsfield?
A Soul ID is a reusable character that Higgsfield trains from your photos. Your face looks the same in every scene instead of being rolled anew for each video. I took around 30 photos and built my Soul ID from them. After that we call it through the API with our own key.
How is the voice created with ElevenLabs?
I read out a text that ElevenLabs showed me. After about three minutes, ElevenLabs had enough material for my own voice.
What does it cost?
A 10-second comic video including audio costs us about 1.75 EUR. All prices are as of October 2026.
- Higgsfield: A 10-second video costs about 30 credits. 1,000 credits currently cost around 55 EUR as a pack, so about 1.65 EUR per video.
- ElevenLabs: 10 US dollars currently buy 10,000 credits. The audio for a 10-second video costs about 0.10 EUR.
- Hosting: No cost, because everything ran locally as a test. For a container in permanent operation we expect under 10 EUR per month.
- All tests combined: about 500 Higgsfield credits (around 27.50 EUR) and about 2,200 ElevenLabs credits (around 2.20 US dollars).
What went wrong?
I accidentally had two Higgsfield accounts and didn't notice. The API key I created belonged to one account, my Soul ID lived in the other. So the key had no access to it. That cost time. Finding the Soul ID in the interface wasn't easy either, and Higgsfield can make that simpler. My tip: Check up front that key and Soul ID are in the same account.
While training my voice in ElevenLabs I read away diligently without realizing my browser had no access to the microphone. That won't happen to me again. My tip: Check the browser's microphone permission before you record.
What's next?
Maybe we'll use this now and then for our own videos as a short change of pace. I like the result, anyway.
